These day the jet-setting business person on the go is just as likely to be a woman as a man. A recent survey of over 575 women conduced by Frank about Women found that travel was the #1 most wished-for gift item: 27% of women said that travel would be their favorite gift! The survey also investigated what types of travel women most preferred as a gift. No surprise here: the uber-relaxing options such a trip to the spa, a relaxing cruise, or even a no-worries all-inclusive package to a resort were the favorite options among the women surveyed. Sense a trend? Women want a chance to relax and get away from the pressures of work, household responsibilities, and the mundane day-to-day routines. Giving the gift of travel is an excellent way to do that.

Great Travel Gifts for Women

• Travel Gift Certificates or Travel Gift Vouchers: Did you know that it’s possible to give a gift certificate for travel? Cool! This lets you show her that you’re serious about giving her a trip as a gift, but still be able to plan the details together. There are a number of good sources online for travel gift certificates.
• An additional theme we discovered in our research on gift for women travelers is that many women are concerned with maintaining their appearance on long trips, making easy care travel clothing a great gift ideas for traveling women. Many beauty products are available in TSA-approved travel versions. Here are some suggestions:
  • I particularly liked Philosophy’s “The Travel Agent” beauty set, which includes convenient travel-sized versions of three of Philosophy’s most popular products. Certainly beats the free stuff you find in the hotel!
  • Keep all those maintenance necessities in one convenient package with this travel manicure/ cosmetic set… Hint: even though it comes in a beautiful leather case, this is no high-end luxury item: you can find it cheap at Wal-Mart, among other stores!
  • La Source Travel Spa package from Crabtree and Evelyn: Let’s face it, sometimes even the most indulgent traveler doesn’t have time to make it to the spa. Give her that same feeling of beauty rejuvenation and relaxation with the La Source Travel Spa package.

  • Another item that women (travelers or not) love is handbags: you can never have too many! For the female business traveler, consider a handbag that lets her store her laptop and other office goodies in a package that still looks elegant and feminine.
